The other costs to plan for

    Mounts

$60 to $140 per screen for indoor fixed, tilting or full-motion wall mounts. Window and outdoor screens need their own mounting, which is quoted per site.

    Players

Not needed with Samsung or LG smart TVs or Android TV, because DSTology runs on them directly. Other screens need a small player such as a Google TV device, about $95 to $200.

    Installation

Depends on the wall, the height, cabling, power and network, and on whether screens go in a window or outdoors. We quote it per site after a short call.

    Software

Digital signage software is usually a monthly subscription per screen. With DSTology your first screen is free with a 14-day trial, and switching from another system is free.

    Questions

How much does a digital menu board cost in Canada?

For a 55-inch screen, expect about $700 to $850 for a smart TV, $1,060 to $1,180 for a commercial display, $2,740 to $3,720 for a high-brightness window display and $5,770 to $7,390 for an outdoor display, at Canadian retailers in October 2026, before mounts, installation and tax.

Can I use a regular TV as a menu board?

Often, yes. For screens behind a counter with normal opening hours, a Samsung or LG smart TV works well, and DSTology runs on it directly. Choose a commercial display for long hours, and a window or outdoor display for screens that face the sun.

Do I need a media player?

Not with a smart TV: DSTology runs on Samsung and LG smart TVs and Android TV. A screen without a smart system needs a small player on its HDMI port, such as a Google TV device, about $95 to $200 in Canada.

    How much does installation cost?

It depends on the site: the wall, the height, cabling, power and network, and whether screens go in a window or outdoors. We quote installation per site after a short call, across Ottawa–Gatineau and the Greater Toronto Area.

How much does the software cost?

Digital signage software is usually a monthly subscription per screen. With DSTology your first screen is free with a 14-day trial, and we send you pricing for more screens on request.

    Do these prices include tax?

No. The Canadian prices on this page are before sales tax. Retail prices change often, so check the retailer before you buy.
