What new restaurants set up on DSTology
Ready on opening day, and easy to change in the first busy weeks.

A shop-window screen before you open
Count down to opening day and show your opening offer to everyone walking past, weeks before the doors open.
An opening offer that ends on time
Set the start and end once. The offer appears on every screen on opening day and disappears by itself.
Calories, caffeine and salt
The calories, caffeine and salt icon that Saudi menu rules require are part of every layout and change with each item.
Menus designed in minutes
Describe your menu in Arabic or English and AI Design creates two complete layouts in seconds, or start from a template.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Each menu switches on at the time you set, so nobody changes screens by hand in your first busy weeks.
Changes from your phone
A new dish, a sold-out item or a price change in the first weeks: update every screen from your phone in seconds.
Your opening planner
Enter your opening date and city. The planner dates every step from your opening day, and you can tick off what’s done. What you enter stays on this device.
The licences behind these steps are explained in our guide: how to open a restaurant in Saudi Arabia.
What the restaurant requirements ask you to display
The 2025 restaurant requirements from the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing name a screen as one way to show this information.
Meat types and origin
Local fresh or chilled, or imported with the country of origin and whether chilled or frozen, on a sign, tablet, screen or the menu, somewhere visible. On DSTology you change the origin whenever your supplier changes.
Allergens and calories
The awareness signs the authorities require, plus the calories, caffeine and salt icon SFDA asks for, built into the design of every item.
Notices
Emergency numbers, opening hours and Civil Defense instructions can go on a tablet, screen or frame. Give them a fixed corner of a screen or a slide in the schedule.
The unified QR code on the shopfront
A QR code on the shopfront that links to your licence and official documents, reachable outside opening hours. It’s a sticker or sign on the shopfront and doesn’t need a screen.

Questions
When should a new restaurant set up its menu screens?
Decide where each screen goes before the fit-out ends, so power and internet are ready behind it. Design the menus about four weeks before opening, then install and pair the screens two weeks before so you can test them in your soft opening.
Do I need to buy new screens?
Usually not. DSTology runs on Samsung and LG smart TVs, Android TV and any screen with a browser. If you need new screens, we can supply and install them with our partners.
What must a new restaurant’s menu show?
Yes. Restaurants and cafés must show calories for every item on their menus, including digital menu boards. Since July 2025, menus must also show caffeine content for drinks, a salt icon on high-salt items and an estimate of the activity needed to burn the calories.
Can the screens show meat types and origin?
Yes. The 2025 restaurant requirements allow meat types and origin on a sign, a tablet, a screen or the menu, somewhere visible. On DSTology you can change them whenever your supplier changes.
Can menu prices follow my POS?
DSTology can connect to your POS so prices and sold-out items update on every screen automatically. Ask us about your system.
Which licences do I need before opening?
Commercial registration, Civil Defense approval, the Balady municipal licence and health certificates for every staff member, in that order. See our guide to opening a restaurant in Saudi Arabia.
Do you work with new restaurants in Canada too?
Yes. We install on site in Ottawa–Gatineau and the Greater Toronto Area. See digital menu boards in Canada.
How do I start?
Send us your opening date, city and number of screens on WhatsApp. Your first screen is free for good with a 14-day trial, and setup is free for every screen when you sign up by 31 January 2027.
