12 questions to ask before you choose
Ask any provider these. Here is how DSTology answers.
Who makes DSTology, and is there a team in Saudi Arabia?
DSTology is made by Apptology Inc., a software company founded in 2014 with offices in Riyadh and Ottawa. Our Riyadh team sets up screens on site in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Khobar.
Does it fully support Arabic?
Yes. Menus, offers and the app work in Arabic and English, with right-to-left layouts and Arabic fonts. You can type what you want in plain Arabic and the AI design tool builds the screen.
Can it show the calories, caffeine and salt icon the SFDA requires?
Yes. The SFDA requires calories for every item, and since 1 July 2025 also caffeine for drinks, a salt icon on high-salt items and the activity time to burn the calories, on printed and digital menus. DSTology menu designs include each one. See the full rules for a new restaurant.
Will it work on the TVs I already have?
Usually yes. DSTology runs on Samsung and LG smart TVs, Android TV and any screen with a browser. For a shop window or an outdoor lane, use a high-brightness display; we can supply and install it with our partners.
Does it connect to my POS?
With Foodics, prices and sold-out items update on every screen automatically. We connect other POS systems on request.
Can I change menus and prices for every branch from my phone?
Yes. Change it once and every branch updates within minutes, or pick only the branches or cities you want.
Can menus switch by time of day and for Ramadan?
Yes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus switch on their own, and in Ramadan the iftar and suhoor menus switch at the right time in each city.
What happens if the internet drops in a branch?
Screens keep playing and schedules keep running. They update as soon as the connection is back.
How do I know every screen is working?
The dashboard shows which screens are online, and proof-of-play reports show how long each screen ran, per location.
Will my screens show other companies’ ads?
No. Your screens show only your content.
Can I switch from another system or from USB sticks?
Yes, and the switch-over is free. Reef Perfumes moved from USB updates that took about two days to updates in minutes. How the free switch works.
How much does it cost, and how do I start?
Your first screen is free for good, and you can try more screens free for 14 days. For a quote for your branches, message us on WhatsApp at +966 55 446 9093. We visit, connect the screens and set up your first menus with you.
Abu Alhous runs its menus and offers in every branch from one place, and Reef Perfumes went from USB updates that took about two days to updates in minutes. Abu Alhous case study · Reef Perfumes case study
